Dans le nord du pays, la ville historique de Saint Louis est perchée sur une île à l’embouchure du Sénégal Rivière. Fondée au XVIIe siècle en tant que première colonie française en Afrique de l’Ouest, la ville était autrefois la capitale de la colonie et est maintenant connue pour la beauté de son architecture européenne.
